Moving your Emails from FASTHosts

There is no easy way to move your emails from Fasthosts, we can't as we do with other hosting providers copy the folders that your email are in.

For instance Jeff@ would be one folder Marge@ would be another.  In most cases we can copy them but not with Fasthosts sadly.

There isn't a straightforward way to backup all your mailboxes in one go - So you'll need to get each individual mailbox user to make a backup of their mailbox and then save the backup locally ready for migration.

Here's the process each user would need to follow:

Login to mailbox using a mail client such as Outlook (Thunderbird is a good free option if you only use webmail)

Backup the mailbox

Using the same mail client, connect to their new mailbox with the new provider

Upload the backup

It's also worth noting that if all of your users are just connect to their Fasthosts mailboxes using a mail client and POP3, all they'll need to do is just change the server settings to the new provider. In theory they wouldn't even need to backup as all the email will be stored locally anyway.

HOWEVER, I would strongly advise making backups before you change anything, as you never know what will go wrong.
