This was recorded last month at Ignite Liverpool, an event here in Liverpool which it says is to highlight movers and shakers, creators, thinkers, tinkers, innovators and doers, makers and dreamers in a fast paced format designed to inspire.
Mike lived in the Central American country of Guatemala, situated next to Mexico, for a number of years. In his talk Mike was telling the audience who had gathered at Leaf cafe on Bold Street about the research that had been undertaken into their Transitional Justice program. An opportunity for Mayan Women to have their voices heard and seek justice after experiencing violence. Which sounds very similar to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission that took place post apartheid in South Africa.
